OVERVIEW
China's largest refining-petrochemical joint venture to date, on Donghai Island in Zhanjiang, Guangdong -- a partnership between Sinopec Group and Kuwait National Petroleum Company (exact equity split not disclosed). Phase 1, costing CNY44 billion ($6.2 billion), started commercial operation on 16 June 2020 with 10 million t/y (about 200,000 b/d) of crude refining and 800,000 t/y of ethylene, producing gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and high-end chemical feedstocks.
