OVERVIEW
Formerly Petrobras' Landulpho Alves Refinery (RLAM); Petrobras completed its sale to Mubadala Capital for US$1.8 billion on 1 December 2021, and the operating company Acelen renamed the site the Mataripe Refinery. Nameplate capacity is commonly cited at 333,000 b/d; Acelen's own current materials state "over 300,000 b/d, equal to 14% of Brazil's total refining capacity." It is Brazil's second-largest refinery and supplies over half the Northeast region.
