OVERVIEW
Marathon Petroleum's refinery complex in Texas City, Texas -- in 2018 Marathon merged its original Texas City refinery (84,000 b/d) into the larger, adjacent Galveston Bay refinery it had acquired (formerly 451,000 b/d), forming a single 631,000 b/d complex under the Galveston Bay Refinery name. Ranked among the largest refineries in the United States (second-largest per the EIA, largest by some other counts).
