OVERVIEW
Utah's largest refinery, built in 1908 in Salt Lake City; passed through Tesoro (which purchased it from BP Amoco), was renamed Andeavor in 2017, and was acquired by Marathon Petroleum on 1 October 2018. Crude capacity is about 70,000 b/d, producing gasoline, distillates, propane and heavy fuel oil for the isolated Utah/Idaho/Wyoming market -- one of six refineries clustered around Salt Lake City due to the region's landlocked crude and product logistics.
